it's OK
I was given this as a gift by a friend whose birds were 'to small' to turn the rings. However my medium sized parrot has just as much difficulty turning the rings. He's usually able to get treats out of the bottom ring or if I cheat and line them up in a way that very little turning is needed but it still takes time which I guess is a good thing because it keeps him engaged. This toy would get 5 Stars if it was designed in a way to turn more smoothly. I have to admit I had some trouble turning them myself sometimes. The problem can be fixed to an extent by loosening the screw that keeps it all together. I discovered this after taking the entire thing apart to wash. However this won't fix the entire problem. Recommended for larger birds only.

Nice looking toy -- won't last very long.
Very sharp exciting toy. Only problem was my bird destoryed most of it in first hours. He loves to play but the wooden components are just too soft. Knots with ropes were also two loose. I was able to re-tie it but he still could chew through the soft wood.

forage play
My birds love these party balls I put treats(nutriberries)inside so they can have a destroy toy with foraging rewards my African Grey and the Meyers Parrot can have it disassembled within a week the 'tiels take a couple months just add a new treats or re-stuff the balls with paper strips. I think they would give this item a thumbs up if they had them.

Make em work a little!
Good sturdy little foraging device. My sun conure figured it out and although now he's very quick at it its something for him to do when he doesn't have his favorite toy (ME!) to play with. I put a peanut in it. I haven't found another one that he can do. The other device I bought is really too large and heavy for him (or else he just hasn't got that one yet)

My lovebird loves this toy. She slowly picks it apart savoring every second and inch of the toy.
